The Brief
Eden Valley Mountaineering Club (EVMC) approached Greystoke Web Design as their old website was no longer working. We worked with them to try to recover the site, but there were no backups available, and it was decided to start afresh. The brief was to come up with a simple website so that news could be published, events organised and crag guides and access information uploaded. A final requirement was to come up with a simple logo in 2 versions, one in the Ukrainian flag colours in order to show support for Ukraine.
The Solution
The first version of the website includes a fully responsive Events Calendar, with events split into Day and Evening meets. Crag route guides and Access information can be easily added to the site, with PDF attachments.
To improve the Eden Valley Mountaineering Club membership application process, we created a custom form, capturing both consent for contact (GDPR compliance) and also mandatory risk acceptance. We also added an automated response to provide details on how to pay membership fees.
Going Forward
As the EMVC get used to updating their new site, we have plans to expand to include an Instagram gallery so that photos can be more widely shared, and potentially also adding more content from their archives.
The Completed Site
A fast, responsive, secure and modern site, the website is hosted on my Kualo Green Energy reseller plan. EVMC have an ongoing support contract in place to make sure it stays up to date and secure.
