About the Project
DB Trade Supplies had some issues with their existing site, not least of which was that their web developer wasn’t answering calls. Malware was also present on the old site. They decided they needed a new site and approached us to carry out the work. Unfortunately for them, the web developer also controlled the domain and we could not get it transferred over. Instead the client bought a new domain – dbtradesupplies.co.uk – and we proceeded to rebuild the site on our hosting. But before we did that, we cleaned up the malware on the existing site for them.
The Completed Site
DB Trade Supplies got a full makeover! We stripped out unnecessary code and completely restructured the shop. We added branding to improve SEO and customised many of the WooCommerce pages to make them more appealing. A product search feature was added, as well as the ability to filter by brand / colour / size / paint category. In short – everything you would expect from a modern eCommerce store.
We added custom tabs to show technical information, and added an interactive coverage calculator as well.
The payments side was set up to use PayPal. We integrated this more fully with the shop so that orders would no longer require manual intervention to progress them. We also made the email system more robust, so that the client gets automated emails for every order – this wasn’t happening before.
And of course we optimised the site to make it run as fast as possible
When we were ready to open the new site, we put the old site into maintenance mode and redirected all traffic.
