Fraud Warning – Emails Impersonating Greystoke Web Design
On 1st October 2026 fraudulent emails were sent to customers by someone impersonating Greystoke Web Design and requesting payment for supposed website updates, plugins or licences.
These emails were not from me. One known fraudulent address is
Do not click payment links, make payments, provide passwords or send payment confirmation screenshots in response to these messages or messages like them.
If you receive an email claiming to be from me and are unsure whether it is genuine, please contact me directly using the details on this website rather than replying to the email.
If you made a payment in response to one of these emails, please contact your bank or card provider immediately and let me know.
Action taken
I immediately reported the fraudulent Gmail account to Google, the phishing email and payment link to the National Cyber Security Centre, and the fraudulent payment page directly to the payment provider.
I also contacted all customers to warn them, reviewed the security of my key business accounts and hosting access, and changed relevant account passwords as a precaution.
The evidence suggests the scammer may be identifying customers through publicly available information rather than from a breach of my customer database.
