Build a fresh new website, where it is easy to upload new photos.
We were thrilled to be approached by Bob Park at Greystoke Gill Pottery to build him a new website. His key requirements were that it be easy to maintain and could showcase his work.
The Solution
We discussed various options as to look and feel, and agreed on using the ‘Astra’ theme. This is an insanely fast and lightweight WordPress theme, which is highly customisable.
We consolidated Bob’s existing website content into 3 pages: Home, Gallery and Contact. And we made sure to put in place permanent redirects from the old website. This preserves google search ranking and updates bookmarks.
The Modula gallery plugin allowed us to create dynamic, responsive galleries to showcase Bob’s work. All images were optimised and tagged for SEO, of course! We added the Smash Balloon Instagram plugin to both the home page, and the gallery page. This allows Bob to easily update his website with new pieces – just by uploading photos to Instagram. No technical knowledge required!
We then added google search console and analytics.
The Completed Site
The finished site is fast, responsive, accessible and fully SEO optimised, complete with GDPR compliant privacy and cookie policies. The heading has a clear ‘Contact’ button and the website also encourages people to follow Greystoke Gill Pottery on Instagram, where you can see all his latest fabulous pieces!
