Carlisle Waverley Viaduct Trust
The brief here was to create a modern site for a local charity. The previous website was not mobile friendly and as the charity were gearing up for some fundraising, it was important that it be easy to donate, or support them in other ways. A really important aspect was to ensure that the history of the physical site – Engine Lonning and The Canal Yard – was brought to life.
The Completed Site
The new website features updated imagery and prominent donation buttons. We converted some of the old newspaper scanned articles into news posts, and indexed the rest as a news archive. The location section features an image slider allowing people to compare the current satellite view against an old OS Map. Delving deeper, and interactive hotspot map allows people to click on locations and find out more about each one.
